Summary

This book is about Paul and his weirdo family and lifestyle.
The story begins when Paul starts to tell about the day his pet died, the same day that they moved again.
Paul and his family used to move three times a year, because his mom always has arguments with the house bosses and is never able to pay the rent on time.
And today they would move again.
Together with Connie’s family they moved in a house in Travis. Connie’s husband had left her and she was, just like Paul’s mom, alone with two kids. Connie and Paul’s mom became friends and they decided to buy a house together so they could split the rent.
In Travis Paul met Jennifer and she tells him a lot of the town. She became his best friend. Jennifer also gives Paul advises of kids in his class.
Nonno and Nonna, the parents of Connie, came almost every weekend to Travis.
Paul likes Nonno Frankie a lot and Nonno became his Pigman. A pigman is someone who helps you and gives you all the advice you need.
The first day on his new school he’s already involved in a fight with John. Paul played paddleball, but after fifteen minutes John came to him and asked the paddle. Paul wouldn't give it to him because he was busy and because he didn't know the rules. The rule for paddleball was; that the paddle must change every fifteen minutes from owner so more kids could use it. He was frightened and gave the boy a slap. After that the boy told the whole school he revenged on Paul after school the next day.
Paul is afraid and he tells Nonno about it. Nonno taught him how to fight. Paul is very nervous the next day, but that isn’t necessary because they don’t have a fight but they have to come to the principal’s office to talk it over.
Paul and John became friends and Paul has a nice school year. He made a lot of fun with his friends and Nonno is a father he never knew.
And then suddenly something unexpected happens Paul’s mom and Connie gets a terrible fight. Connie has a new relationship with a man how Paul’s mom hates. They don’t talk to each other anymore and so Paul’s mother decided to move again.
Jennifer cried and the goodbye was painful but the worse thing was the last meeting with his pigman. Nonno gave him the hope he needed and Paul saw a vision. He would be a writer someday.
Then his mother yelled to him that they had to go. He got into the car and they were moving again and this time it’s really going to work out, so says Paul’s mom. Like she always does.

Mom came back that afternoon. She said nothing but Betty and I knew it was the end of our world in Travis. But this time we wouldn’t agree, mom could go alone. We like it here and if mom wants to move she could go alone.
We’re not going we said.
What?
We’re not going to move.
Don’t be radicalise, you cannot stay here alone.
We’re not alone, we’ve each other. I said. And I’m sure we can stay by Jennifer. But we’re not going.
But why? My mother asked.
I’ve friends here, I like it here. Betty said. I’m tired of all that moving you cannot take us away every time you want. We also have a life.
Do you ever think of that we wouldn’t like all that moving, that we also have an opinion.
You never ask.
We don’t wane travel anymore. We want to stay here.
If you want to go you can go alone.
For a second I thought my mother would cry. But strange enough she agrees. She never thought of it that way and she was very sorry. Because she already had sold the house we moved to another but the most imported thing was we stayed.

Opinion
It was an easy book to read whit a lot of jokes. I thought the book was very boring but it wasn’t so I liked the book.
