Summer term at St. Clare's This story is about the twins Pat and Isabel. They go to a boarding school. The school is called St Clare’s. The girls are in the first form. The girls had to stay home from school a week longer because they could have the mumps. The doctor told them to be in quarantine and therefore the twins missed the first week of summer term in school. Not a lot happened in school that week, but five new girls had arrived: Bobby, Sadie, Prudence, Pam and Carlotta. Bobby was called Don’t care Bobby by the other girls because she played tricks in class with the teachers. Sadie came from America. The only thing she cared about was here hair. Pam was a silent girl that studied very hard and did everything Prudence told here to do. Prudence was a horrible girl that spied on other girls so Prudence would look better with the teachers. In boarding school the girls could do sports like tennis, swimming and diving. The best girls in the sports could be picked in the school team to compete with other schools. The twins are very good at tennis and they are picked in the schools first form team. Prudence did not like Bobby and Carlotta. One day Prudence and Pam saw Carlotta by her self walking. Prudence thought this to be strange because the first formers were not allowed to make walks alone. Prudence and Pam saw Carlotta go to the circus camp that was behind the hills. Prudence was surprised to see Carlotta horseback riding and Carlotta was very good at it. She could do all kinds of tricks while riding a horse. When the girls are back in school Prudence tells all the girls that Carlotta is a circus-girl. Prudence thinks that the other girls will dislike Carlotta because of this, but all the girls don’t mind that she grew up in a circus. Carlotta is happy that everybody in school now her little secret and it makes Carlotta a popular girl. All girls dislike Prudence even more then they did before. |
