Summary



One winter’s day a man arrives in the little village of Iping. His head is covered with bandages and his eyes are hidden behind dark glasses. He rents a room with a fire at the inn from Mrs. Hall. Mrs Hall is the owner of the place. He spend most of his time alone there. The man was not so friendly. Mrs Hall thinks that he coverd his face because he had have an accident.

Mr Hall came home. Teddy have told him that they have a new quest and he thinks the new quest is very strange. Mr Hall will see the new quest but when he looks into the room nobody is there. They went to bed.

The next day the boxes of the stranger arrived. In those boxes where big fat books and a lot of bottles! Mr Hall finds the man strange and want to know whats wrong with him. That afternoon Mrs Hall goes to the room of the stranger to bring him some food. She goes into the room without knocking and the man made her clear he didn’t like that. He wants the key of the door so nobody can enter without permission. So mrs Hall gives him the key of the room. The stranger locked the door and mrs Hall heard only sounds of bottles and sliding chairs.

Cuss, The doctor heard the story about the stranger and was interested in the bandages and bottles. When he meet the stranger in his room, he saw that there is no arm in the sleeve of the stranger. The stranger touched Mr Cuss with a hand that mr. Cuss can’t see. Mr Cuss was so shocked and ran out of the room.

The next day someone had broken in the house of Mr and mrs Bunting. The thief had stolen the housekepping money. Mrs Bunting had heard a sound down stairs, but Mr Bunting saw nobody. There was a loud sneeze and the kitchen door closed. As Mr Bunting opened the kitchen door, he saw the back door open. They ran outside and looked around and after some time they went back into the kitchen.

Mr Hall calls his wife, they want to know what the stranger is hiding in his room. When they are both in the room, they see only his clothes and bandages. They ask themselves what the man is doing without his clothes. Than the sheet on the bed moves, it looked like someone was lying on the bed. After some strange things happend in the room, the chair pussed Mr and Mrs Hall out of the room. The door shut loudly and was locked.

As the week pass he becomes more and more mysterious and unfriendly. Mrs Hall is angry about the bill not being payed and ask the stranger what he is does to her furniture and who he is. The man became also angry and pulls in its rage all the bandages of his face. Everyone in the bar was shocked off what they saw. They all see that he is invisible but they don’t want to believe it. Cop Jaffers saw it too. He tried to arrest the man but the headless man hit him to the ground. The people are running out of the Inn. The strange invisible man take off all his clothes and ran away from the house.

The invisible man came back after a few days. Mr Thomas Marvel is sitting at the side of the road. He heared someone talking against him but he can’t see who it is. Marvel thinks he’s going mad. The voice is telling him that he’s invisible man and need some help. The voice asked him to bring clothes, books and some food from the house of Mr and mrs Hall. Marvel does it but only because he was affraid of the voice. Mr Huxter had seen Marvel and was guessing it was a thief. Mr huxter tried to catch Marvel but something strange happend and Mr Huxter saw the ground suddenly move towards to his face and then nothing. Marvel walks free away.

The invisible man had a rough time after that because all the people off Iping were looking for him. And the invisible man was looking for Mr. Marvel and his books. Marvel wants the voice to go away and tries to escape. The voice didn’t like that and tries to murder Marvel, but this goes wrong. The invisible man was shot in his arm.

The invisible man thinks that Mr Kemp, a old study friend will help him, he lives in the neighbourhood. The stranger ran to the house of dr. Kemp. The invisible man told him that he was Griffin, a colleague of dr. Kemp and he told him all about he became invisible, why he became invisible and that the police were looking for him and how he could get back to normal. To become normal he needed his books, but Mr. Marvel had them and they didn't know where he was. Mr. Griffin wanted to move to another country because he wasn't save there.

Right after that the police came into Dr. Kemp's house to look for the invisible man, he was there but he went away as fast as he could go.

Dr. Kemp told Colonel Adye that the invisible man wanted to rule the world with violence. After hearing that the colonel sent many men and dogs into the forests where Mr. Griffin was hiding. An old man heard the invisible man in the forest, Mr. Griffin got scared and killed the poor man. They couldn't find the man.

A long time later the invisible man wanted to get even with Mr. Kemp. He told the man in a letter that he will be killed. Short time after that Griffin came to kill Kemp. He attacked him but Kemp was helped by the people of Iping. One of the big crowed killed the invisible Griffin, right before he died Mr. Griffin became slowly visible again. Griffin the first of all man to make himself invisible, ended his strange and terrible life.
